All the Best Value Options from Soft-Shell to Super-Light in my Cheapest Samsonite Cases Guide
When you see the process that Samsonite use to replace luggage ranges – you’ll immediately know exactly how to get cheap Samsonite suitcases.
It is not a big mystery. New ranges are only sold through the official Samsonite site and at physical retailers. After a year or so, they are sold via the official Samsonite store at amazon.co.uk. Some are not only cheap, they get an additional big discount (30% is common, I have seen bigger).
Unless you simply must have the latest designs, you can get amazing Samsonite luggage at a fraction of the retail price.
I’m not talking about cast-offs and end of range here. Classic discounted options include S’Cure spinners, Neopulse and the amazing Lite-Shock cases.
Huge Number of Samsonite Suitcase Ranges at Bargain Prices
I’m a big fan of Samsonite and have been using a mix of their super-light spinners for my personal travel.
That said, I’m also aware that the sheer number of ranges, sizes and finishes can leave newcomers to Samsonite luggage confused. This is where this epic cheap Samsonite suitcases guide comes in. By the time you skim through the options below, you’ll know exactly how to find for the perfect Samsonite case for your needs – without breaking the bank.
Let’s be honest, design is a huge factor. We all search with our heads for the practical features and price / value of each case. When all is said and done, when it is a close call, the luggage which suits our sense of style wins out. Luckily, Samsonite provide plenty of options!
Here is how this page is laid out:

Table: Best Cheap Samsonite Cases
Overview of Samsonite Luggage: How the Suitcase ‘Family Tree’ Shapes Out
Each design comes in cabin, regular check-in, and large check-in size. To keep things clear, I have left the size options to the longer descriptions of each case below. To start with, let’s take the main categories, and list the designs and options for each.
Super Light Spinners:
These are the cases that genuinely puzzle people the first time they pick one up (me included). Your brain will take a minute to process just how light they are. These cases are made of Curv. You can stand on them, and they resist your weight. Here are the cheaper ranges:
- Lite-Shock
- Neopulse
- Lite-Cube
Each comes in a range of matte and metallic colour schemes. Those metallic ones scratch easily, so be careful with them – that said, they look fantastic.
Hard-Shell Spinners:
A lot of designs in this category. This was the bread and butter for Samsonite until the super-light cases came around. New ones are spinners (4 wheels) while classic designs have two wheels. Designs range from conservative to wacky. Here are the cases:
- S’Cure (wide range of options)
- S’Cure DLX
- Flux Spinners
Soft-Shell Spinners:
There are some seriously elegant cases in Samsonite’s range of soft-shell designs, at some surprisingly cheap prices. New materials keep these tough – as well as wipe-clean. Outside pockets make soft-shell cases practical (hard-shell ones don’t have them). Here are the most popular soft case designs:
- Spark SNG
- Popsoda
- Airea
- B-Lite
Wheeled Duffel Bag Suitcases:
Duffel cases are popular. They combine holdall bags with wheels and telescopic handles. They can be wheeled along – or carried like a regular duffel. Different shapes and sizes range from smart enough to be a business bag to something that looks more like a hiking bag. Here are the designs:
- Paradiver
- Sonora
- Midtown
I have kept the laptop bags, backpacks, day bags and accessories like scales for later. The sections below take each of these categories and takes a deeper dive into the options.
Samsonite have a dedicated store at amazon.co.uk where you will find the best prices and regular discounts (even on the most popular ranges). Do check it out when you find a case that works best for you.
That is the overview – the next three sections look at the best value ranges for super-light, hard and soft-shell cases.
Best Samsonite Luggage: The Super-Light Cases
I still remember the first time I picked up a Cosmolite case, the original / first of the super-light options from Samsonite.
It was in a department store in Vienna, Austria. That ‘OMG!’ is this possible? Feeling is still vivid. They had one in a stand low to the floor. People were taking it in turns to stand on it. Yes, it did take your full bodyweight. There are four designs in this category, though the Cosmolite range has since been phased out. They use a patented material called ‘Curv.’ This is a thermoplastic composite called Propex.
You can push against these cases lightly and they will bend. The harder you push, the more it locks into place.
Even a full-sized medium (check-in size) spinner comes in at just 2.3kgs – until you pick one up… you’ll just have to take my word for it.
Pros and Cons of Samsonite Super-Light Cases
Pros:
- Lightweight cases leave more weight for packing
- Look amazing (head-turning)
- TSA locks, spinner wheels and quality materials
- The Samsonite service and quality guarantee
Cons:
- Higher price point
- Prone to scratches (especially the metallic colours)
Below are details of the four case ranges:
#1 Lite-Shock Suitcases from Samsonite
This is my personal design pick. There are ridges going horizontally across the cases, they curve more at the top and bottom. Made of ‘Curv,’ Lite-Shock cases are incredibly light. Even the large one is only 2.5kgs. All the Lite-Shock range are spinners, with multidirectional wheels and a telescopic handle.
Here are the size options:
- Small: 55cm, 36l Capacity
- Medium: 69cm, 73l
- Large: 75cm, 98.5l
- XL: 81l, 124l
You get plenty of colour options. They range from the standard dark shades to stunning combinations like Petrol Blue and Sand.
Check out my super-detailed Lite-Shock review based on the Medium Spinner here.
Alternatively, this page at the Samsonite Amazon.co.uk Store has a zoomable picture gallery and the latest deals / discounts.
#2 Neopulse Suitcases from Samsonite
I had metallic red medium spinner which was my go-to until I got my current Lite Shock. These cases use the Curv material – and put it into a unique design. The lines are in a square, like concentric square rings around the central point on each face. This curves onto the corners, leaving the sides flat.
They are spinners, with all the Samsonite quality features including a TSA lock, zipped inside compartment and telescoping handle.
Only one case is non-metallic. This is the matte black version. Metallic finishes are black, blue, intense blue, sand, intense red (pink tones) and red.
There are three sizes in the Neopulse range:
- Small: 55cm, 38l
- Medium: 69cm, 74l
- Large: 75cm, 94l
Here is my detailed review of the Neopulse Spinner Cases.
You can compare the colour options and check for discounts now, over on this dedicated Neopulse page at the official Samsonite Amazon.co.uk store.
#3 Lite-Cube Cases from Samsonite
The immediate difference are the vertical ridges. For me, the Lite-Cube spinners have a smart elegance – compared to the more vivid styling for Neopulse or Lite-Shock cases. This is reflected in the colour options. Instead of pinks and bright blues, you choose from graphite (grey) or Ivory gold.
These cases are the missing link between the fun super-light cases and business luggage.
There are two small spinners, plus the usual M, L and XL options:
- Small: 55cm and 20cm wide, 36.5l
- Small: 55cm and 23cm wide, 43.5l
- Medium: 68cm, 67.5l
- Large: 76cm, 96l
- XL: 82cm, 122l
The inside of these cases is different to the other lightweight ‘Curv’ options. You get a double panel zip compartment, plus a mesh cover for the main compartment.
As always, quality build, Samsonite’s impressive guarantee and spinner wheels come as standard.
Lite Cube cases are far from a sub-set of the Lite-Shock range. They have an understated style, and some extra details which will definitely appeal to regular travellers.
Check out my detailed Lite Cube cases review here.
Better still, check the zoomable picture gallery and see any discounts / promos now – over on this dedicated Lite-Cube page at the official Samsonite Amazon.co.uk store.
#4 Honourable Samsonite Cheap Super-Light Mentions: Lite Biz and Cosmolite
A quick mention for the other super-light cases. Cosmolite was the original ‘Conche’ design. This range has been superseded by Lite-Shock.
The other cases are laptop rollers which double up as hand luggage. These ‘Lite Biz’ cases look stunning, those are not the cheapest, though do have that wow-factor.
See this page at the Samsonite store for a detailed look (review to follow soon!).
Cheap Hard Shell Case Options from Samsonite
Classic hard-shell cases made Samsonite into the global brand it is today.
When it comes to the budget models, your best bet is to explore the S’Cure range. This is a play on the word ‘Secure.’ When you see them, you immediately see why. Compared to the newer super-light cases, these are sturdier, heavier, and tougher. Samsonite keep the style and give you a huge choice of colours and styles.
S’Cure have a new, upgraded version called ‘S’Cure DLX,’ the other hard-shell at value prices is the ‘Flux’ range.
Here are the main options for anyone looking for a bargain Samsonite hard-shell case.
#1 – Samsonite S’Cure (Biggest Budget Range with Discounts)
S’Cure cases have classic good looks.
They are spinners, with a tapered body. The top of the front curves gently inward. Enough to make these cases look smart, without taking away from the carrying capacity. There are four sizes and eight colours. Black and dark blue are the most popular. If you are a little daring, bright yellow or green versions are available. Dotted front panels and contrasting padding above the wheels completes the smart design.
These cases are made of 85% recycled polypropylene and other repurposed materials.
You get a combination lock with TSA override and a zipped compartment inside. All the spinner wheels are doubles.
S’Cure cases will appeal to anyone that loves classic good looks – and wants a cheaper Samsonite suitcase that will last for years.
Check this page at the official Samsonite store at amazon.co.uk for pricing and colour options.
#2 – S’Cure DLX Suitcases
When you compare a S’Cure DLX with the original, it is easy to see they are from the same family of designs.
The DLX cases are upgraded versions, though you can still find value options online. First, the design features curved lines and more details like contrasting trim and richer tones. The inside also gets an upgrade. Check out the additional pockets, quality lining materials and use of flowlite polypropylene to keep the unit light. As with the main S’Cure range, you get to choose from a range of sizes and (small) selection of colours. The DLX options are perfect for anyone that likes the style of the originals, though want’s a case with those small extra quality touches.
You can see the options on this dedicated S’Cure DLX page at the official Samsonite store at Amazon.co.uk
#3 – Discounted Flux Hard-Shell Spinners from Samsonite
I love the Flux spinners – it would be easy to call them smart, for me the design is dramatic too.
You get a silver band halfway up the front, breaking up the clean lines that curve around at the sides. These cases are as solid as they come – made of ‘next generation’ polypropylene. The bold design turns heads in black, and you can choose striking colours including tangerine red and ocean blue in addition to the usual darker shades. Flux cases have doubled spinner wheels with telescoping handle, lock with TSA over-ride and will expand to give you extra carrying capacity. There are four sizes: small (55cm), medium (68cm), large (75cm) and XL (81cm).
Tough Flux spinners from Samsonite will last for years and years – and at a decent price point too.
Check out the Flux Spinners page at the official Samsonite store at amazon.co.uk for all the options.
Honourable Mentions: Other Discounted Hard-Shell Suitcases from Samsonite
Mixmesh cases are not as frequently found as the other hard suitcases from Samsonite. These have textured shells which immediately stand out from all the regular cases at an airport carousel. You can see my detailed review here.
Of course, the super-light cases covered in the section above are also hard-shell. You find this out the first time you put pressure on them.
Cheap and Discounted Soft-Shell Suitcases from Samsonite
Multiple styles and colour options to pick from with soft-shell luggage.
Samsonite are famous for their hard-wearing materials, which are easy to wipe clean. What many people don’t know is that they use recycled plastics. Look out for cases made of Recyclex, or even old plastic bottles. I’m certain you will agree that recycling and style go hand-in-hand with these soft-shell cases.
The ranges below are at the sweet-spot, with some real bargains among the best-known ranges.
#1 – Spark SNG and Spark SNG Eco Soft-Shell Spinners
This is the single most popular soft-shell case range from Samsonite – they were category best-sellers for years.
For me, the looks are classic, with dark colours and clean lines. Spark cases are tough. The regular ones are polyurethane, and the (slightly more expensive) Eco ones are Recyclex – which is made of recycled plastic bottles. Both can be wiped clean, though look like fabric while in use. This makes Spark SNG luggage plenty tough enough to withstand regular use. Size options include expandable and regular, with small versions at different widths. Colour options are blue, black and petrol blue (a grey / blue).
One innovation on this range is a narrow metal rope which goes through the zip heads of the front and main pockets -this lets you lock everything at once using the combination lock with a TSA override.
See the size options and close-ups of the features now, over on the Spark SNG Spinners page at the official Samsonite amazon.co.uk store.
#2 – Popsoda Soft Suitcases from Samsonite
Samsonite describe the design of their Popsoda soft-shell cases as ‘energetic.’
For me, they are almost sporty, with a distinctive contrast between the smooth material and mesh-like extras. White contrasting logo and piping is used across all four colour options. In addition to the popular black option, you get red, dark blue and teal. There are four sizes, with two smaller ones a medium and a large. Popsoda luggage has spinner wheels, and tough, easy to clean material. This range opens from the front, revealing a single big compartment. You get a front pocket on the outside and zipped smaller compartment on the inside. A combination lock with TSA override is used.
This range is contemporary – though keeps all the quality extras that fans of Samsonite cases are used to.
Check out the options and see the (excellent) feedback for yourself now, over on this dedicated Popsoda page at the Samsonite amazon store.
#3 – Base Boost Cheap Samsonite Soft-Shell Spinners
The Base Boost range of soft-shell spinners has a sharp, almost retro edge to the design.
These are hugely popular cases and come in the usual sizes with added expandable options. All have the jutting spinner wheels, and sit proudly, displaying their classic panelled good looks.
Base Boost cases feature small details which set them apart from the other cheaper soft-shell cases from Samsonite. This list includes a metal logo, zips which are semi-hidden by the fabric and contrasting cream on the inside. They open to reveal a deep pocket, with plenty of storage.
Only dark blue and black colour options for the Base Boost spinners.
For retro elegance, a great price and attention to those tiny quality details, check out the official Base Boost page at the Samsonite Amazon store now!
#4 – Airea Soft Shell Spinner Cases
You get a wide range of colour options with the excellent Airea spinners range.
If the Base Boost cases have retro elegance, Airea have a far more modern elegance to them. Sharp lines and curved piping give these cases a strong presence – even without the honey gold or cactus green brash colour options. Eight sizes to pick from (like the Spark SNG options) that include expandable and top pocket options. You get a combination lock with TSA override as standard.
At a low price, the Airea cases are a popular option – if you love the design then that Samsonite quality will definitely not let you down.
See this dedicated product page at the Samsonite store for the close-ups and options.
#5 – B-Lite Soft-Shell Cases from Samsonite
Until the B-Lite soft-shell cases were introduced, Samsonite avoiding the duo-tone designs.
While instantly visible, the double tones of the excellent value B-Lite spinners are subtly done. You will see dark grey and black, brown with dark sand and so on.
There are two bright and cheerful suitcases in this range. For the more daring traveller, Capri Blue and Ruby Red certainly have that wow factor.
Choose from seven sizes, including an XXL option with a massive 156 litre capacity. All have those tough Samsonite spinner wheels, outside pockets and added security features.
Check this B-Lite case now – over at the official Samsonite store at amazon.co.uk
Other Types of Cheap Luggage from Samsonite
Wheeled duffels, laptop bags and holdalls are all popular options.
After writing six pages, which would be too much all in one place. Instead, here is an overview of the other cheap suitcase options from Samsonite. Again, their new ranges are on their own site – with the bargain stuff found on the official Amazon store.
Wheeled Duffel Cases from Samsonite
Duffel cases combine a big holdall with wheels and a telescoping handle.
Samsonite have some excellent duffel cases in their bargain ranges. Two wheels and handle (underneath) are the standard setup. This means you can choose between using shoulder straps or pivoting your case and pulling it along.
Paradiver duffel cases have four spinner wheels – and are the best of both worlds when it comes to the latest suitcase designs.
The other ranges are Sonora, Midtown and the amazing Neonit duffels.
Start with this page – and see the other great value Samsonite duffels in the ‘related products’ listing just below the main description.
Cheap Laptop Cases: Samsonite Has You Covered
It is the same script when it comes to getting the best value laptop cases from Samsonite.
The latest designs (which are not the cheap options) are on their own website. At their Amazon.co.uk store you find the roller laptop case designs from 2 to 3 years back. This is where the real value can be found.
Samsonite Laptop cases and business hand luggage overlap.
You can use their ultra-light spinners as laptop cases and use the bigger laptop cases as hand luggage.
A dedicated page covering the different options is already on my to-do list. In the meantime, check out the HHHHHHH HHHH – which has the best of all worlds when it comes to business luggage.
Other Samsonite Luggage Options and Accessories
We are not (quite) done yet – there are scales, security devices and shoulder bags to consider.
And yes, the same rules apply for getting the best prices, or bargains if you are lucky. Hit the Amazon store for ranges which are a little older and pay half the price of the very latest designs.
I have ended this page with a repeat of the table that started it. This shows the best luggage options covering super-light, hard-shell, and soft-shell cases. If you read, or even scanned, this page, then the options I picked will be easy to understand now.
