Packing for Different Destinations
Articles here cover how best to pack for many different destinations. When you are travelling to a new place for the first time, it can he hard to know what to take. Does your packing for a trip to Las Vegas include the same things that you’d take on a cruise? If you go skiing, why is it so important to take certain items usually associated with the beach?
Packing varies my length of stay, what you pack for 2 weeks can be completely different to the contents of a weekend bag. Guides have you covered here.

Business Travel
It feels like a novelty or a ‘treat’ the first few times your boss sends you away on business. After a while, that novelty wears off. You then understand why so many business travellers roll their eyes when you tell them how lucky they are to be jetting off once again!
You will find guides and articles covering different types of business travel here. These are practical guides. For equipment focused pages, I recommend that you check the business luggage pages instead. Security, convenience and speed are all key to business travellers. This starts with packing, and continues until you have finished the assignment.
Travelling with Kids
This presents its own unique challenges. Those challenges vary from keeping them entertained to managing those who are too young to really understand what is going on. Some of the airlines are starting to wise-up to how to keep kids happy. You will find many ideas here at Luggage Review. This varies from articles and tips (many of them from experienced travelling parents), to the things you can buy to make life easier.
Of course, some of the gadgets that you buy will also keep Mum and Dad entertained – after the kids have gone to sleep.
Where to Travel To?
Once you have decided on a destination, you’ll find plenty of guides covering the highlights and details. What I find is missing out there are pages which give you some ideas of new places to visit. Things are not as simple as just seeing the best-known spots these days. Some people travel to relax, while others want adventure, or unique experiences. Once again, you have found the right place. Over time the library of ideas for destinations and speciality holiday types will grow and grow. How about combining your next break with a marathon, maybe a cooking class? How about you head to some beautiful coral reefs for some scuba diving instead?
When you do choose your destination, you need some hard facts.
Many of the airports which have city names are miles away. They make ‘London Luton’ seem like a close thing (though I’m not sure ‘London’ is accurate). What you save on a low air fare, you might lose in terms of time and / or money in getting to your real destination. The same goes for the airlines themselves. Some can appear great value. By the time you have paid extra for that luggage, to choose a seat and (sometimes through the nose) for those onboard beverages, the math looks very different.
Back to Buying Luggage
Maths plays a significant role when you buy luggage too.
I have been using the following saying for years; There is nothing more expensive than cheap luggage.
You’ll find plenty of items at knock-down prices. Almost always, this is from no-brand (or at least made-up brand) factories. You can save £20 here or £30 there…
The problem is that the quality is anyone’s guess. If you lose a wheel, a zip breaks or the corners of your case become compacted, you’ll need a new case. If you get through a ‘knock-off’ every 2 years, the money starts to add up. A quality branded case will cost more initially. You’ll find these last a lot longer. This covers the practical aspects as well as the looks.
One sneaky solution to this is to get the ‘previous generation’ branded luggage. When a new case comes out, they are full priced. Items which are out for a couple of years can be brilliant quality. These are often around 30% cheaper than the newest items.
Of course, some people love the newest, best, lightest and most secure bags.
